Thoughts and Ideas

Thank you Rebecca for posting the ideas. I had delayed my post to think things over.
So here are my thoughts and ideas:
Since there are 18 of us and 100 pages that would calculate out to 5 and 1/2 pages each to fill the book.
If each of us had the book up to 3 weeks it would take just over a year to complete.
So do we want to shorten the time to 1 - 2 weeks and do 2 or 3 pages and have it travel around twice.
Or lengthen it to 3 - 4 weeks and do 5 to 5 1/2 all at once

I would love for each of us to be able to keep a part of this project. So my idea on the CD are:
Have all the pages scanned and put on a CD for each of us so we can print out and make our own book.
The scanning can be done by one person or each of us scan our own pages at 300dpi or higher and
sent to one person to make the CD.
Another thought I just now had would be for each of us to scan our pages and post them as a download for each of us
to download and keep and print. This way we would get to see the book and print it out as it is being created.
I have a way with my server to make the downloads private and secure with a password so we would be the only ones
able to get it. You would have to send your scans to me via snail mail on a CD.

If you would need instructions on how to turn the scanned pages into a book let me know.

Just my thoughts and looking forward to hearing yours. And thanks Bek for putting this together.

Hello Toni...Great ideas...I personally would like to do the shortest amount of time..only because I am impatient!!! but either way is fine with me....and I also agree about having the book also...so any type of scanning is fine with me...Vicci

Poor Val! i am trying frantically to get the glitch sorted out so that she can join in the fun! hang in there Val, we havent forgotten you!
Great Ideas Toni- im in agreeance with Vicci in that a shorter amount of time is good because it can keep momentum and hopefully ensure the book doesnt get lost.
Speak to Leeza and she was thinking maybe an online gallery with hi-res images so that each of us could download and print- would save on costs- what do you all think? that way too, more people would end up seeing our fabulous project!!

It's a good idea to have the book travel around the world twice. In that way we will have different ideas and we will even see our own changes through our works!

Hey guys, thank you for all the discussion and hard work. Like Vicci, I am fine with your final idea ok?

I agree with working with shortest time. I too am impatient. :) I also like the idea of having an online gallery for us to print off our own books. That way, if there's a particular layout or other format we want to personalize, we can. It will also cut down on having to have one person responsible for the printing and the subsequent mailing of the books.
I'm so looking forward to this!

Hi all, agree too on the time span, no more than 3 weeks for the longest I think.

I guess once or twice around needs to be decided so the correct number of pages can be alloted?

maybe an on-line gallery on "flickr" which now offers cd's, dvd's or books so you have the option of getting it reproduced however you want?

I'm easy on the timeframe, too, seems twice aorund the block would be cool, and as Miragee suggested, it'd be a great way to see how our work and ideas change over time.

I am so glad you are doing this Bek - hurrah to you!!!
